Ahh, Ireland… that beautiful spot on earth of tranquil rolling hills, storm-tossed coastlines, winding rivers, lush greenery—simply amazing landscape!

The thing is, I’ve never really been to Ireland. Such a downer, I know. But—as the wise would love to put it, and on a cheery note—it’s on my bucket list.

So how did I fall in love with Ireland? It’s largely owing to the fact that once upon a time I had the good sense to watch these 3 wonderful movies that were filmed there. All showcased the rugged beauty that is uniquely Ireland. Apart from enjoying each movie’s plot, I also had a grand time taking in the views.

1. Leap Year

Leap Year

Funny, witty, and cute, this feel good romantic comedy is my absolute favorite among the three that I can’t anymore keep track as to how many times I’ve watched it. It tells the story of a girl who went to Ireland on leap day to propose to her boyfriend, as legends hold that a man cannot refuse a proposal made during such day. The movie showcases Ireland’s spectacular cliffs, among others. The proposal scene on those cliffs near the end of the movie was beautiful!

2. P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You

Such a tear jerker, keep some tissues on hand when watching this movie. But on the brighter side, you’d get a 360 degrees of fantastic views of Ireland’s lakes, hills, and flower-bedecked landscape.

3. Laws of Attraction

Laws of Attraction

Smart and funny, this is also a romantic comedy worth watching. You’ll see some fun dancing and hear some good music set in a charming Irish pub. Aside from those gorgeous Ireland panorama, of course.

Now on to you… have you seen any other movies set in Ireland? Which is favorite?
